Undergraduate Student Award Payments

• Request a Tuition Deferral (Register without Payment)

  You are eligible for a tuition fee deferral on the basis of Undergraduate Scholarships or Awards (register without payment) if all of the following conditions apply:

  • you have paid for prior session fees,
  • you have documented scholarship/award/bursary funding for the current session of an amount that exceeds the minimum required payment (Fall term tuition fee total for Fall-Winter session or 50% of Summer tuition fee total for Summer session)
  • The scholarship/award must be offered by the University of Toronto or external award must be paid to the student by the University of Toronto. External awards paid directly to students are not eligible for tuition fee deferral.
  • you apply for a tuition fee deferral prior to your division’s Fall-Winter Pay or Defer to Register deadline or Summer session Pay or Defer to Register deadline.

  Request a tuition fee deferral on the basis of University of Toronto scholarship or award at least 10 days before your divisional registration deadline:

  • University of Toronto Mississauga students submit deferral request online
  • University of Toronto Scarborough students can view deferral request instructions 
  • Other students: complete the form and email your completed form, the award letter and a copy of your ACORN invoice your Faculty or College Registrar (Faculty of Arts & Science)

  Request a tuition fee deferral on the basis of External scholarship or award:

  • complete the form
  • email your completed form, the award letter and a copy of your ACORN invoice to awards.uoft@utoronto.ca at least 10 days before your divisional registration deadline.
  • Include in email subject line “2024 Summer Tuition Fee Deferral”
  • Retain a copy of your request for your records.

  If the fee deferral request is successful, ACORN will change your registration status from ‘Invited to Register’ to ‘Registered’.

  If the University scholarships or awards, does not exceed the Minimum Payment to Register amount on your ACORN invoice for your program, you may deduct the amount of the scholarships or awards, from the required Minimum Payment to Register amount and pay the remaining amount by the Pay or Defer to Register deadline, in order to complete your registration.

  You are responsible for paying for the portion of Fall-Winter fees that will not be paid by your scholarship and award funding by the payment deadline for the current session.

  April 30, 2024	Final deadline for full payment of Fall-Winter session Tuition & Non-Tuition fees to avoid the recording of an ACORN financial hold on May 1, 2024, and ineligibility to register for future session(s).
  May 15, 2024	First monthly service charge billing date for unpaid Fall-Winter Tuition & Non-Tuition fee amounts

  Summer Session Payment Schedule

  You are responsible for paying for the portion of Summer fees that will not be paid by your scholarship and award funding by the payment deadline for the current session.

  August 31, 2024	Final deadline for full payment of Summer session Tuition & Non-Tuition fees to avoid the recording of an ACORN financial hold on September 1, 2024, and ineligibility to register for future session(s). * Some programs may require an earlier deadline to pay Summer session fees to register for Fall-Winter session.
  September 15, 2024	First monthly service charge billing date for unpaid Summer Tuition & Non-Tuition fee amounts

  December 15, 2023	First monthly service charge billing date for unpaid Winter term Tuition & Non-Tuition fee amounts
  April 30, 2024	Final deadline for full payment of Fall-Winter session Tuition & Non-Tuition fees to avoid the recording of an ACORN financial hold on May 1, 2024, and ineligibility to register for future session(s).

  Summer Session Payment Schedule

  You registered for Summer session by paying the Minimum Required Payment amount displayed on your ACORN invoice.

  Check your ACORN invoice before the end of May, and August, to determine if you need to make a fee payment.
